JUNE 12, 2014.  Something exciting happened on Wednesday May 7, 2014, a group of us, three from Blow Pierce were selected to participate in Google Hangout with two other schools. Hangout is like FaceTime without it being Apple’s version, it’s Google’s and you’re able to video chat over the internet like you would do with an iPhone. So during this awesome video chat Steve Spangler, a well known scientist and educational speaker, showed us that when doing science you don't always have to use toxic chemicals. He showed us how you can use a bottle of alcohol to protect your money in a scientific way meaning that he dipped his 20 dollar bill in alcohol and set it on fire, the fire went away and the money was not affected at all. But do not try this at home.

During this video chat Steve Spangler had surprised us with his experiments. I read on his website that “He is an engaging speaker.” I, along with my other two peers, had to see it for ourselves, and we agree with the statement. I would say watching him is an experience worth having. If you ever want to experience what we have experienced I would urge you to participate in more Science Fairs and other Science related activities to do awesome and extraordinary things. But I would also recommend that you see these experiments for yourself.  Even if you don't love science watching him would excite you. You can see these experiments on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsY_ugtcsjQ. Another name you could look up is Sick Science.
